January marked the launch of Anchor Lighter Spreadable, supported by a £7 million brand marketing campaign.

The new Anchor Lighter Spreadable has all the taste of Anchor Spreadable but with 25 per cent less fat.

Anchor butter and spreads brand manager, Caroline Baker said: "We believe the launch of Anchor Lighter Spreadable will be the biggest thing to hit the butter and spreads category since the launch of Lurpak Lighter Spreadable, another of Arla Foods's products, which is now a £30 million brand.

"We've conducted extensive research which shows that taste and health remain two of the key butter, spreads and margarine purchase drivers. The massive product development we have undertaken has shown that as a lower fat option, Anchor Lighter Spreadable delivers its taste promise," added Caroline.

Anchor Lighter Spreadable is available in two pack sizes, 250g and 500g.
