Arla Foods amba and Arla Foods Milk Partnership (AFMP) farmer directors are in discussions to define the process of clarifying the roadmap for what is required for AFMP members to become owners of Arla.

Today, Arla Foods has published its Annual Report 2012 in addition to a separate CSR report which highlights how the company is fulfilling its social, ethical and economic responsibilities.

During 2013, Arla will invest in a number of dairy expansions and new facilities in order to increase global production of its most profitable products. Arla also intends to increase efficiencies within production while also reducing its environmental impact.

Over the next five years Arla will increase its focus on Russia, China and the Middle East & Africa region and aims to double sales of ingredients to the food industry. On Arla’s core markets in Northern Europe the main focus will move from expansion to increased profitability and innovation.

Neil Kennedy is stepping down from his role at Arla, to pursue interests outside of the business, with effect from 31 March 2013. Neil was the CEO of Milk Link until the merger with Arla Foods amba and since October held the position of senior vice president for milk and member services.

Arla Foods amba has announced that the Arla Milk Link member milk price will increase by 1.33ppl with effect from 3 December. This latest increase will be applied by way of an adjustment to the Business Market Related element of the Arla Milk Link milk and take its standard litre price from 3 December to 28.83ppl.

Arla Foods amba and Milk Link are pleased to be able to confirm that regulatory approval has been granted by the European Commission to merge. The Commission’s approval means that the merger will now complete on 1 October, enabling the formation of the UK’s number one dairy company.

Arla is targeting a 500 million litre increase in its raw milk supply by 2015 and is well on track to deliver this.
