Alton Towers team up with Anchor

Following the success of a partnership with Alton Towers in 2003, Anchor Spreadable and Cheddar are set to link up with the Tussauds Group again to run a nationwide on-pack promotion.

Following the success of a partnership with Alton Towers in 2003, Anchor Spreadable and Cheddar are set to link up with the Tussauds Group again to run a nationwide on-pack promotion.

Consumers simply take the foils from Anchor Spreadable packs along to Alton Towers to receive money off the entry fee. 250g packs carry an instant £7 off foil coupon, while the foils on the 500g packs carry two £7 off instant coupons. This represents an amazing saving of £28 on the entry fee for a family of four, if four individual tickets are purchased.

The cheese promotion, running on 400g packs of Mature and Extra Mature Cheddar, invites consumers to take along the voucher on the back of each pack for £7 off entrance to Thorpe Park.

On-shelf from 27th March for six weeks, over two million Anchor Spreadable packs and around 300,000 cheese packs will carry the exciting promotion. Last year's promotion on Spreadable, which offered £5 off entry, saw many thousands of redemptions at Alton Towers.

Anchor Spreadable Brand Manager, Caroline Baker, said, "Throughout the Easter and Summer holidays, these promotions will undoubtedly appeal to families by encouraging them to enjoy a great day out together. The promotion also aims to attract new consumers to the brand."

Additional brand marketing activity planned for the second quarter of 2004 includes continuing TV executions of Anchor's new advertising campaign, door drops and consumer as well as trade PR activity.
