Arla creameries and cheesemakers star in new campaign to champion cheese
Arla has launched a campaign to champion cheese and demonstrate the craft and passion that goes in to producing it, by making stars of the cheeses and the cheesemakers from the six Arla creameries across the UK.
Arla is the UK’s leading cheesemaker with a majority of the cheese from the award winning creameries Taw Valley, Tuxford & Tebbutt, Llandyrnog, Lockerbie, Trevarrian and Stourton. They produce a wide range of cheeses including Stilton, Cornish Camembert, Brie, Cheddar and cottage cheese. The remaining cheeses are from Arla sites in Europe. Arla supplies own label cheese to many of the UK retailers as well as brands such as Castello, Anchor, Apetina, Puck and Arla Professional, its food service brand.
The main focus for the new campaign is a new website, www.Arlacheese.co.uk. Visitors to the site can learn more about the creameries which have, in some cases, hundreds of years of history. In addition, they can watch insightful profiles of Arla cheesemakers working in a range of roles across the creameries, thereby demonstrating the skill and expertise Arla is proud to have at its sites.
The website’s news and events section, meanwhile, ensures that key messages, developments and achievements are effectively communicated as Arla continues to raise commercial awareness around its products and the cheese category as a whole.
The campaign includes advertorial support in key trade publications and a physical presence at country shows and exhibitions. As part of this, Arla will showcase the award success of its cheese. In 2016, Arla cheese won over 200 awards, more than any other cheese producer.
Katie Bleach, Category Director for Cheese, Arla Foods UK, said: “Our farmer owners take great pride in the milk they supply our creameries with. This pride continues through to the way we make all of our cheeses. Our creameries have several hundred years of history and this combined with unrivalled cheesemakers means they are producing products recognised as some of the best in the World.”
