ASDA charity conundrum
Famous TV presenter and the face of Yorkshire Butter, Richard Whiteley recently hosted a special edition of Countdown at ASDA head office, Leeds, to raise money for charity.
Contestants from ASDA House and Arla Foods, Leeds, picked vowels and consonants and came up with plenty of six and seven letter words but neither team broke the all important Countdown conumdrum, 'risky hero' which was, of course, Yorkshire.
"It was great fun and I was impressed by the quality of the teams. I doubt whether contestants on the show would have come up with a word like cholera," remarked Richard Whiteley.
The winning team presented a £1,000 cheque to Children In Need.
"The event was a real success and demonstrates the close working relationship we have forged with Asda. It was a great opportunity for supplier and customer to have some fun," said Sam Morgan, customer marketing manager for Arla.
Arla Foods UK plc is home to some of the UK’s leading dairy brands including Cravendale, Lurpak and Anchor.
