Calcium Kid has a fighting chance

Milk is making it big in the movies, following the launch of The Calcium Kid, which hit cinemas nationwide this April.

The film follows a young milkman who is an amateur boxer and ends up fighting the world champion.

Movie favourite Orlando Bloom plays an Express milkman, in a departure from his lead roles in Pirates of the Caribbean and The Lord of the Rings.

The film company, Working Title, worked with Express back in 2002 to film key scenes for the movie at its Bloomsbury depot, London. They also borrowed a real Express milk float for location shots in south London and used Express employees as extras.

Working Title has also made the recent hit Love Actually, Four Weddings and a Funeral and Notting Hill.

The Calcium Kid is likely to push milk once again to the forefront of discussion over its health-giving properties.
