Cravendale scoops convenience award
Cravendale 284ml won the praise of the convenience industry, scooping the award for best new convenience product launch at the Checkout magazine's annual awards ceremony.
It pipped Dairy Crest's Cathedral City Lunch Pack to first place with judges praising the product for being specially developed for the convenience market and for its healthy properties.
"It's a serious piece of new product development both for the brand and the convenience market," said one judge.
"It's a great opportunity because it takes milk out of the dairy chiller and into the mainstream drinks cabinet."
Cravendale 284ml is available in semi-skimmed, Cravendale Hint Of Wild strawberry and Cravendale Hint Of Vanilla.
"It chimes in with consumer trends by picking up on the health opportunity in the marketplace," said judges. "It's a healthy drink that will appeal to both adults and children."
Thyrth Jarvis, senior brand manager for Cravendale is delighted with the award: "This is great news for the brand and recognises the fact that we have successfully targeted the convenience market with a product that is respected by this industry as well as proving a hit with consumers who are looking for a convenience drink that is healthy and nutritious."
