Settle creamery's butter has once again been tickling judges' tastebuds at the summer shows.

Settle creamery's butter has once again been tickling judges' tastebuds at the summer shows.

At the Great Yorkshire, in the retailer butter category, its organic butter scooped second place while its channel island came third.

Then, less than two weeks later, judges at Nantwich international cheese festival awarded Settle's bulk butter second place and its unsalted variety third.

But it wasn't only Arla's butter that excelled at the Great Yorkshire Show, in the milk and cream classes Northallerton's extra thick cream came second while Hatfield Peverel's Cravendale came fourth in the whole milk category.

And Anchor cheddar proved a hit too, particularly with youngsters who voted it the best dairy product. The brand also picked up a third place rosette in the medium cheddar category.

Arla's imported cheese faired equally well with Isigny AOC Camembert being awarded top prize in the soft cheese non-blue class as well as picking up the trophy for best soft cheese.

It was a similar story at Nantwich, where Arla gained two golds, six silvers, eight bronze, plus a very highly recommended and highly recommended awards for its imported cheeses.

One of the cheese scooping gold was Discover's new launch Tomini with Italian Herbs in the single speciality soft or cream cheese with additives category while the brand's Salad cheese with Red Peppers picked up a bronze award.

Mick Evans, brand manager for Discover said of the wins: "I am extremely happy for the Discover.. team to have received these awards. Everyone has worked tremendously hard to ensure that the entire range is of the highest quality and consistency, offering consumers a taste of something different."

Anchor Cheddar also came out of top at the prestigious cheese show, scooping silver in the mature class.

Arla Foods Milk Partnership also had reason for celebration. In addition to picking up several awards in the dairy class at the Great Yorkshire Show, last year's winner of the supreme champion award, Liz Wolfenden and Philip Crookes, once again raised the trophy, this time for prize cow, Windchat Gibson Lulu.
